What is vesal vega?

I don't think I'm spelling that right.

A friend of mine is passing out, has a pace maker.

Her doctor told her she has "vesal vega", we can't find that on the internet anywhere.

Can someone tell us what that is?

or even how to spell it right?

I think you are talking about a Vasovagual attack, which happens when there is overstimulation of a major nerve (vegus). It slows the heart rate and lowers the blood pressure. It can be a result of extreme stress, pain, or heart issues.

I injured my ring finger, got the ring caught on a metal strip and it tore the finger open. I was okay till I tried to get the ring off and it was so swollen and bleeding so badly. I fainted, got up took about a dozen steps and fainted again.

If you google passing out from pain or stress you will find info on it.

A vaso-vagal reaction is when your vessels dilate and your blood pools away from your brain and you pass out. There are many possible causes for it........dehydration, a virus, autonomic dysfunction, severe psychological shock, etc.. Sometimes certain medications can cause it. It mostly happens when a person is standing up.

I would wonder if your friend's pacemaker needs to be reset at a high pace.

In healthy people, our vessels usually constrict when they need to. But when a person is vaso-vagal, they stay dilated and the blood can't make it to the brain enough, and causes the person to pass out. I would make sure your friend is drinking lots of water.
Your friend needs a good work-up. If you think your friend's doctor isn't doing enough, find another doctor.

Passing out isn't normal and shouldn't be ignored.

Hello Lena(?), Welcome to Las Vegas. I don't know where you are from but if it isn't from the desert you will find growing things different here. This is probably too late to grow warm season vegetables but fall is a great time to get cool season vegetables in the ground. Things like, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, cabbage, lettuce, onions, etc. I don't know about your swimming pool idea. It seems like it could get heavy when it is full of dirt, plants and water and it might be hard to support it well. Also because drainage is important to plants I wonder if a few holes will be enough. Maybe if you put gravel in the bottom and the holes but then that will add to the weight. Hey, if you already have the pool I guess it can't hurt to try but I'd probably try something a little more like a pot, maybe five gallon buckets with drainage holes punched in? Anyway a lot of things I try aren't successful but it's a learning process and after 17 years here I'm definately still learning. Good Luck! Maria

Pam, I started writing a big long message, before I realized that you're in Las Vegas, Nevada, NOT Las Vegas, New Mexico! I guess I'm so used to seeing New Mexicans on this particular forum, and maybe I'm a bit insular-minded or something. Anyway, I can't imagine you would have much trouble as long as you choose things that can take the heat and you give them sufficient water. If you'll be doing any sort of gardening in the West though, you should definitely have the SUNSET WESTERN GARDEN BOOK to help you sort through the dizzying array of species out there. It's mostly an amazing plant encyclopedia, but the plant selection guide in the beginning also helps you choose from categories such as "plants for dry areas", "cacti and succulents", "trees and shrubs for containers", etc.. Sorry that sounded like a Sunset ad, but it's always the first place I look. By the way, for whatever reason this particular forum has been very very slow for a long time, so you might get better results in one of the others. Some of them have dozens of new postings daily and quickly get numerous responses.

I'm sure mongo (and Bill) know of what they speak but we have a house full of Marazzi tile. Kitchen floor, part of the den, small hall, both bathrooms and the dining room. DH laid it all. Sizes range from 12" to 20". He didn't have any trouble with it. Had some issues in the dining room but that was a hump in the concrete slab, nothing to do with the tile. Monica

A pre-welcome to my city! While you are at the Bellagio, don't pass up the Conservatory inside the hotel. It changes continually and is great for photos. Madame Tussauds at the Venetian is always fun. If you get a car, take a drive out to Red Rock Canyon. There is a scenic loop out there too. I understand the Show in the Sky at the Rio is back up and running and it is free. Bring clothes to stay cool in and shoes that are good for walking in, if you intend to walk the Strip. Have fun while you are here. If I think of something more...I'll be back.
