Sometimes my lips are bright red, when I'm not wearing lipstick. Does anyone know what causes this?

My husband's aunt always said to her daughter "Go get a drink water, your lips are red, you're dehydrated." Sorry, that is all I have. My sons lips get pretty red at times and I am always on him to drink water too.

See your doctor. Your body is not using the air you are breathing. If your finger tips are red have a furnace check done immediately. I have a type of COPD and it gives me red lips and cheeks when I am having problems breathing.

No red finger tips, and I have a fairly new furnace(2 years old). I have had some red on my cheeks lately, but I thought it was from the flu I had. I only notice the red lips once in a while.I don't feel like I have any trouble breathing. I did have a bad case of bronchitis around Halloween time, and had 3 rounds of meds then.
