LOL, I am only woring with the "un-registered" plumerias so I will have a blast finding good pictures of all the plumerias out there. I believe they number in the thousands so this could be a life long project! It will definitely be a challenge but I know the people on this forum have some great photos if I can talk them into sharing. Living on well water is a little more complicated and requires more maintenance than municipal water cause you have to keep the water nice and safe. I'm curious, no test for bacteria? Good that you have your own lab test... Hit the Yellow Pages and call at least three local water treatment pros. Make sure you call at least one of the big dogs like Kinetico or Culligan for comparison and at least a couple independent pros. DON'T TELL THEM YOU HAD YOUR WATER TESTED. Give each an opportunity to offer suggestions and provide you with a quote to meet your water treatment needs. IGNORE ANY THAT DON'T TEST YOUR WATER THEMSELVES as they can't speak intelligently to water treatment without knowing what needs to be treated. Ask lots of questions. Softening the entire house or just the water heater (bad idea)? Warranty, parts & labor or just parts, how long and on exactly what? Install, permits required, licensed plumber? Routine maintenance and costs? Do they stock parts? Response time for emergency (water leak) calls? If they don't explain things to your satisfaction that is a good indicator of how you'll be treated after the sale. After they've gone use your water test to compare with theirs. Are all your treatment needs being addressed? Ask your neighbors if they have any water treatment experience. They might tell you who's good or who to avoid. Come back here and post the specific recommendations and hardware components with the costs and we'll give you our opinions.

Hi jas, I note that in my earlier story I hadn't mentioned that my PSA test as ordered by my general practitioner was something like 18.6 (and I think that I heard 18.7 once: but that seems rather like a distinction with very little actual difference). I don't remember how long it had been since my earlier test, or what the number(s) may have been, earlier. They hadn't troubled him, apparently. That test result got him to get a referral to a urologist ... and I don't know what interval was involved, but it wasn't long. I wasn't worried, so the doc must have allayed whatever fears I may have had (and you may know from prior experience that I'm not a big-time worrier). Had my doc had substantial concern about the situation, from what I've heard about our system, it is very likely that I'd have had an appointment with little delay. Remember, please, that my urologist said that 80% of guys over 80 have it... but die WITH it, not OF it. Which, while it may be one doc's opinion, should not be taken lightly, I figure. During my almost two months of every weekday radiation through January and February I had some (bright red) blood in urine a few times. It got my son somewhat fussed ... but therapists said it was not unusual and the sight of a little blood doesn't bother me substantially. In mid-August, at my six-month check-up, the PSA was 0.5 ... so the cancer doc says that I'm in remission ...and when he's happy: I'm happy! You may note the change in his terminology: when he was recommending the radiation, the term that he used was "cure" ...and now it's "remission". After a number of six-month check-ups ... would maybe a half dozen? remissions may add up to a (more or less) cure? Or would it require 10, after the full 5 years? I guess I'll wait to worry about that later ... if I'm still around to worry. Good wishes to you two, as you deal with your current issue over this. ole joyfuelled

nancy, removing the metal band is simple--there are two screws holding the band on the back of the mixer. If you remove those, the band comes off easily. lazy_gardens, I ordered the parts on eBay. If you download a parts list from KA, then type the part number into eBay's search field, the correct part should pop up. I looked for OEM parts (original equipment manufacturer), and free shipping.
