Great websites, thanks! Regardless the source, it is a fact that radon does/may exist in Granite. I guess it goes along with carrying too much weight even though we know the risks. Driving over the speed limit even though it is proven to increase many dangers to ourselves/others. Spending hours in the sun even though we know the risks. Or even taking drugs/medications even after reading the warnings. I guess you have to weight how important each item is to making us healthy/happy. One example....the "healthy house" in our area that selected materials based on health...air/heat based on health, applicances based on health, paint based on health, lighting based on health....logistics of rooms based on health....and granite counter tops (hmmmmmmmmmm).

I LOVE the Today Show! I watch it every morning, M-F. I'm a bit of a news junkie, but TTS is so much more than that. They have such a great group of people now. Every one of them is likeable and they're so darn enjoyable to watch! I was worried when Katie Couric initially left, but I love Meredith even more. She is so much fun! My very favorite, though, is Ann Curry. As for Hoda & Kathy Lee, I've gotten hooked on their last hour of the Today Show. I'll record it if I can't watch it when it's on. They are so much fun to watch! Nice gals separately and together they make it one of my very favorite shows on tv. BTW, I was really worried about you during that last snowstorm. Did you lose power again or get snowed in? Lynn

What is really going on is pulmonary edema. It is not that he is drowning from the water that was in his lungs from the pool. Any type of insult to the lung can cause this. Basically if you aspirate fresh water, ocean salt water, or become exposed to chemical fumes, etc....the lung tissue reacts and becomes inflamed. Basically at the capillary-alveolar interface (the final little air sacs that kinda shares a wall with the smallest blood vessel) a leak occurs and the fluid from our blood stream fills our lungs. This is called pulmonary edema, our lungs fill with edema fluid and we essentially die a drowning type death. This pulmonary edema can be seen in a variety of situations....heart failure, really bad pneumonia, after major bodily trauma, etc.

No--it wasn't a kitchen renovation segment; just showing homes for sale in different places. Unfortunately, beyond the honed marble and Ann Sacks tile observation by the reporter, no other details. Basically, they usually just show the homes, point out + and - of a particular place, give the asking price, stuff like that. Just based on the rooms they showed, and the property/landscaping, it appeared to be in move-in condition. Clean and bright. "Neutral" enough, but definitely not boring in the least.
