Low-e coatings don't reflect much of the visible spectrum, so if the product was only heat mirror w/o low-e, the VLT would only be a few % more - nearly insignificant. Sound deadening occurs because as sound waves pass through the dissimilar materials glass, air, HM, air, glass, each medium vibrates with a different frequency which diminishes transmission. Argon gas is also effective at noise reduction in IGU's and the thicker the IGU, the better the sound reduction. A single piece of 1/4" plate glass has a STC (sound transmission class) rating of 31. 1" conventional IGU's are rated at about 34 and the same product with heat mirror is rated at 36, so I would rate the difference as fairly insignificant & not too important as a consideration. Though I cannot quote exact numbers without looking it up, I can say that I believe argon gas makes a considerable difference in noise reduction. Without fail, when we install argon filled windows in a noise-rich environment, the home owner invariably comments on how much quieter the home is. Mannington is a great company and they make great products. As a dealer of theirs I will recommend you glue this product down for best results. Any other dealer that suggests otherwise is nuts. I had too many claims against the floating version due to the product not locking properly, raised edges etc. and zilch for the glue down. It's not worth the hassle. Durability of the product is great. Please use coasters or pads under chairs and couches (as with any floor). The product will handle great against dogs and toe nails. --A trapped dog attempting to dig its way out of a room will tear up any floor, even this one. Keep an extra box handy, accidents happen. Glue down is much easier to repair, as noted above. Prep of your subfloor is everything. Make sure it is prepped properly and by their guidelines.

Wolf Induction Range scratch concern

We've had our 30" Wolf transitional IR for almost 2 years. I don't use a mat and while I don't salt vigorously I get lots of errant salt crystals if I salt my food while the fan is on. It's no biggie to wipe/clean as I go. I use a damp TJ's microfiber cloth to wipe clean during/after cooking. I use the Wolf-provided cleaning cream when I want to deep clean/polish the glass. What is noticeable, however, are the many scratches on the silver trim around the control panel. I don't consider myself a "rough" cook, but I have lots of fine scratches on my silver trim. I admit I'm not diligent about using potholders/towels under my sheet pans after removing them from the oven. :( That said, while I enjoyed our Wolf DF range I absolutely LOVE our Wolf induction range! It's an absolute dream to clean and easy to use even without dials! I also use Lodge cast iron and Demeyre pots/pans. My All-Clad non-stick pans that are supposedly induction compatible are the only pans that don't work great on our range but I don't use them often.

Zero way of knowing from the limited info provided, and unfortunately it is not really a question that can be answered over the internet. I would say it has zero to do with encapsulating your crawl space and more than likely if something moving. As far as settling, how old if the home?

I am also concerned. I have e-mailed her, but she has not responded. I am hoping that someone who knows her has gotten her help to get through this somehow.

Hello Everyone....Bless you for your concern. Just haven't been on the puter in awhile....am trying to get caught up on things around the house and yard and also spend alot of time with my Dad. He is doing just o.k. Has been having alot of trouble with his blood pressure...had him to ER 2 times...finally feeling better. Yesterday was a bad day for him....he misses Mom so much...he will tell me that he knows she was ready to go home to be with the Lord...they would have been married 68 years on the 21st. He has gone down and stayed a few days with my sister...while he was gone I would go down to do laundry and it was so hard to look into their little apartment....both not being there. I miss Mom so much and at times the pain just comes over me...I know all the blessings of having Mom with me and being able to take care of her and in my heart and mind I know she is at rest....but all my life I knew that my beautiful Mom was loving me....even during the 9 years of me taking care of her. Again bless you all for your concern. I will try to get on more often. I pray that all is well for you. Nora

I believe there are two different Noras. Has anyone heard from the Nora whose email is nora@land.ru and posted under the title "My beloved husband died unexpectedly." She sounded extremely depressed and many people urged her to seek help immediately, but we've heard no further from her.
