Please pray for my neice!

Hello all,

My neice was in a terrible car accident yesterday and due to injuries to her back, she may never walk again. She had emergency back surgery last night and it is not known what her future holds yet. She was the main bread winner in her family as a massage therapist. She has three small children.

prayers for her- may the healing gift she has brought to others be brought to bear for her own sake, now...and may her knowledge of the human body make her more responsive to therapies than most.

prayers for her children, that they will not feel abandoned or a burden in the new household.

prayers for her partner, who will be stepping into new roles every day, as parent, and caregiver, and breadwinner, and spokesperson.

prayers for family and friends, that they may find their own lives steady and calm, so they have more to offer this family in its time of need.

Ciao Everyone, sorry took a while to respond, it has been very hecktic this week with my family here and back home, everyone is very upset and its just not been good, I have been keeping calm because of my baby and it is very hard though. I was going to go back home and figure what to do but my hometown is not damaged much, just minor things, and there isn't much I can do for L'Aquila province, I will like to help but can't, these are my paisani you know and i feel bad, my family has housed a couple Siciliani who have to wait for their families to arrive from Sicily. They really band together and help each other, that is something I have always admired and hope I never loose that. Easter will be sad for many there this year. Ciao.

Jolana, he has always been a dominant male. Especially since he was convinced, by Mother, that he could walk on water. About 5 years ago he, his wife and I took my motor home to CA and back. He made all the trip plans and stops. He had never driven an RV before. After he jumped me for about the 3rd time for not doing something his way or when he told me. I jumped in with both feet and ate him up one side and down the other. I told him he was not my employer nor my husband and not to tell me what to do. He started to say something and I said and "don't interupt me either" I told him for all I cared, he could walk home. I thought his eyes would fall out. No woman had ever "talked" to him like that. My SIL was bug eyed too. LOL We really are close, I think I just took him so by surprise. I think he is "skeered" of me now.

I told Mom about you guys tonite when I visited and she was so amazed that strangers would hope and pray for her and I told her "they're not strangers they're my friends and they know you I've mentioned you and Gram and they know how special you are" and she got all choked up and asked me to please thank you all because [Like I said!!] she felt very empowered and strong and ready going into surgery and she said she could only attribute that to her friends and family, she felt enveloped. On a lighter note, I couldn't bring flowers to the ICU its a nono - so my Mom mentioned continuing the health trend from this setback by making smoothies [ok the dietician and orderly got her revved because they know she'll be limited for a while after surgery] so I bought her a smoothie machine with a big ole purple bow :) She *loved* it!! They may move her out of ICU and into the regular wing as early as this weekend pending things go well. How cool is that? Yay MOM!

Hi Vickey MN, What a shame that your SIL is having such a rocky part of her journey through life, just now. Yes, it is hard for outsiders to understand depression. Good wishes and kind thoughts plus some prayers going out for her and her young ones ... yes, and for your brother, as well. And for you, that you know how best to deal with her, in these difficult days, and have grace to carry it through well. Thanks for your prayers and kind thoughts. She is in so much pain and Dr's still don't know if she will ever be able to walk. The road through rehab is long and painful. She is expected to remain hospitalized most of the summer. She had already had her fair share of adversity. Life is so unfair.
