afterlife...
Comments (68)I'm sorry for everyone's loss. Alisande; I had something similar happen to me last year after cleaning with Tilex; my airway closed. I've never had anything like that ever happen even when I used to clean for a living. The other is I have a similar memory of honeysuckle with my dad; but it used to grow behind our gas station in Watchung. Honeysuckle has always comforted me; I've worn it (perfume) since the 70's; use Honeysuckle candles & shower gel. After I lost my dad; I always had a candle burning. Ever hear of Cleomi? I had it planted at our station & it was my dads favorite flower; not sure how it ended up at my old house. I've never actually planted it at the new house either but every year since we've been here; it comes up in the weirdest spots. There's always 1 at my mailbox where I can see it from my computer; then in the one garden I have that has 2 roses I planted for my dad. What's funny; I've collected the seeds every year & walk along the woods next to my house; throwing the seeds but they never come up. The other plant that just appeared is humming bird plant; mostly purple ones; in a few choice spots; red. There have been days when the electronics in my office all went haywire at once. House & cell phone; 2 computers; printer & fax. Don't recall what started 1st but the house phone on my desk started to vibrate; I have never found a vibrate feature even on the phone. My Windows MotoQ cell started rebooting; then it seemed like one at a time the stuff in my room started cycling- printer & fax machine started spooling. I knew that it was my dad; I always associate electrical with him. Even at the old house; every time we'd say we're going to stay; something electrical would happen to "remind" us why we needed to sell. Every now & then I will smell my dad; different versions; his usual smell then the day of the viewing where the coffin opening was surrounded in roses & baby's breath In addition to the penny post; pretty sure there's one about greeting cards there; which I've had happen....See MoreDo you believe some houses have bad energy?
Comments (349)It's been a year since we moved into our house, and I do believe that there was bad energy in it at the beginning. After I posted here, I read more and decided to do some things to turn the energy around and it seems it worked! I think a big part of it was just working on my inner energy and bringing this up with my partner. He's not the type of person who would believe in bad energy and haunted places, but he agreed that something was off here and that we should try to do something about it. It can't hurt, right? I cleaned the whole house very thoroughly, and while I was doing it, I was repeating my intentions and good thoughts about the house and the life we want to build here. I also repainted some walls and added a few details that bring good memories. Then I bought sage and went through all rooms and corners to clear the air. It also helped when I added a few green plants that should clear the air. I think that adding something alive to the space helps, too. This was a newly built house and I don't think it was as bad as it could be with the houses that are here for generations and accumulating a lot of energy (good and bad), so that's why I think these small things we did, helped us to live happier here. I started to believe that places have energy when I was driving through Poland a few years ago and not even knowing where exactly I was, I started to feel that something is wrong and dangerous. We were actually passing by Auschwitz which we realized after a few minutes of that "feeling"... Maybe I'm the one who's more sensitive to this, but I believe that we all have some sort of antenna for these kinds of things, someone recognizes it, someone denies it....See MoreDo you believe in Karma?
Comments (29)Juellie1962, yes, I've considered it. And also considered the idea of the "they're in a better place" that is so often stated after a death. But for many who believe in Heaven and Hell, apparently they feel Hell is a better place? Or is it as was discovered on Twilight Zone or Night Gallery - this is Hell? A lot of interesting discussion. To add to what sherrmann and petra said, and viewing many of the posts here, apparently many believe God works by ballot. It must be with all the shoutouts for prayers. Your prayer alone won't do it so you need everyone else to pray for it to stand a chance of it happening the way it looks. So if 100 people pray for something to happen, perhaps it'll happen, but if only 99 pray for it, it won't. Someone will have to fill me in on what the minimum votes are, whether by number or percentage. And if only one prays for it, not much chance then is there? So then what about the person who was going to pray for the death of a forum member and she did die? Perhaps some have more powerful prayer? Or is it "Karma"? Or a coincidence. Maybe more people prayed for a "9-11" event than prayed for the US to be protected so we lost the election. Or it was "will" or "karma". And of course there's the PTL chants when someone is healed but nothing said about the deity that gave them the disease, broken bones, etc. Selective worship or simply hypocrisy? Or maybe it's Karma! :D One has to wonder why a nation needs laws, if in the end they're judged and rewarded/punished. Why have jails? If the rapists, murderers, thieves, scammers, drug dealers, telemarketers, etc, will all get what they have coming in the end, why waste the time, effort and money now? Then too the question, do you have to "qualify" to pray? If someone is not a "believer" and decides to pray, are those prayers automatically ignored? So many questions, so little time. "I love God. He's so deliciously evil!" - Stewie Griffin...See MoreDo you believe in ghosts?
Comments (89)I had several dreams about Ken, but the last one was when he said he had something to show me and the letter on the floor. After he passed, seems like I could sense that he was near me sometimes. I can't explain it....so I don't try. It just was. In one of the dreams I had about him, I was laying in a hospital bed. I knew that I was dying, People were standing around my bed on both sides. I don't recall that I knew who they were. Ken was at the foot of the bed. He turned and walked out of the room, Then my dream switched and I was walking down my driveway at the bayou. Ken had given me his truck and it was parked alongside the driveway. Between the mirror and the glass on the driver's side door, were three sheets of notebook paper folded in half. It was from Ken. He always wrote on notebook paper in pencil. I started reading it and he was apologizing for leaving the room when I was dying. He said he couldn't bear to watch. Then I woke up. I didn't get to finish reading the letter. He was a crew chief on a B52 bomber when he was in the Air Force. He had read every book available on the Battle of the Little Big Horn, and could talk about that for hours. One time in the library, back when you had to sign a library card to check out a book, I looked at many, many books in the non fiction section, and his name was in them all. He was a voracious reader. I used to read a lot of true crime, but I would lose interest when I got to the court room chapters, so I would give them to him to read and he would tell me about them. But he finally said that he couldn't read any more of them. It was too depressing. When it was time to put his cat down, he couldn't do it, and I had to. So it in my dream it was not unlike him to not be able to stand around and watch me die. He always kept a loaded .45 revolver under his pillow. It wasn't to kill anyone, but himself, if he felt he had to. I knew about it and I never tried to talk him out of it, because I knew he wouldn't but he needed the security of knowing he had that option, I couldn't take that from him. After he died and I called his family and the police and the coroner came, I told them about the .45 under his pillow. They acted like it was a big deal. I don't know why. He was dead....it wasn't like he was going to shoot anyone. His sister, who lived next door came....but none of the rest of his family did. I stayed until they took him away....See MoreUser
