Anyone have access to safe websites?

I am seeking some safe websites for the grandchild to visit from time to time when he is here. Had a listing, went to them to check, and found over half no longer exist. Do they all disappear that quickly? I have a few of the old standbys, would someone have some new ones they could share?

Hi Shaddy;
Craftpals is pretty safe and it's a family site.
They have chat rooms and if enough kids show up I am sure they will set something up just for kids.
