I like the disposable camera idea--I know that the thrill of being the one to pick what to take a picture of what a neat thing. As far as the "disappointment over only 1 present" problem goes, you have 2 paths: 1) let them adjust; 2) give them 2 presents. Your choice, I think; either is fine. You can make the second present something silly and inexpensive. (I give my kids a box of cereal for Christmas each year--Cocoa Puffs, or Rainbow Rice Krispies, or something else that I might not get them anyway. It's big and colorful and sweet, and it goes away after they eat it, and they get to have fun eating "their present" for several days. If you're a member of a warehouse club, a HUGE box is about $7; at the grocery store, a regular large box runs about $6)

I take pictures of anything i send, if its a card, what i write in it, and envelope, all gifts in a display, then wrapped, and boxed, and label at Fed X , delivery confirmation. at Xmas i had my husband take a pic of xmas sacks whhhrre he left them at their door, or inside shed. this way ill print and put in a envelope for future proof we sent to each one. my son is following his partners lead (3rd party action towards us and he follows) they are not married and most likely convinced him its better to not due to tax benefits. that is not my concern thats his life but canceling his sister first, then attacking my husband and ending with me is just so painful. but God allows what he allows for his reasons. God didnt do this, satan is using him as a toool and its Gods hand that will bring him back. we will welcome ooen arms to him, her and our grandbabies. trusting Gods love and his ways can be a challenge but one God has helped me thru. life with my daughter and her family and my husband is full but it took time to grt here. i speak to all families that are divided , trust God to help you. seek his word. Exodus 14:14, Romans 8:28, jeremiah 29:11 its not a magic bullet, But God will not forsake you. he may not fix things but He will love you and strengtgen you.

When DD was small she watched me dress, and admired the bra I was putting on - it had a touch of lace on it. Later at the grocery store she announced to the bag boy "Mommy is wearing a really pretty bra today". I nearly died, the poor teenage boy almost died from blushing. Then DD said "No, really, she does. Go on mommy, show him!". I did not, thank you LOL. Another time she saw a cashier wearing a hijab and asked me if her hair was wet, because she was wearing a towel on her head. I explained what it really was, and that it was a religious symbol etc. etc. She really seemed to understand and that was that. But later, as we left the store, she yelled out to that cashier "Good-bye! And I am sorry you have to wear that towel on your head!". When she was REALLY small, she decided that she did not like vegetables, and all vegetables were PEAS. She was offered a sample of pasta. She peeked into the little cup and saw the veggies mixed in and said "No tak-you. It a pea!". She was always very polite LOL. She was (still is) fussy about food especially anything new. She had eaten plain pasta before, but I had cooked bow tie noodles this time. She was suspicious. I told her it was the same as the other noodles, just a different shape. She carefully licked the edge of a bowtie, and shuddered. I was so mad I had to STAND ON THE PORCH! Her and DH still get a kick out of that one. Dances.

As long as I didn't have to clean up the mess of the shredded paper, I didn't mind wrapped. I kind of enjoyed wrapping gifts. But I do think it's a waste of money and other resources. Better to use the comics or something. You can get creative in wrapping. My sister was the first to start using bags and cheapo that I am, I'd save and reuse them. We'd give the same bag back and forth. Now I use the reusable shopping bags more and more for gift bags. It's an extra gift in itself. As far as what I'd prefer to receive? An envelope. Stuffed with cash. Large denominations. As I've said before, THERE'S a thoughtful gift! You may wrap it in money if you want. Or use cash for the tissue too if you like. Christmas is approaching.
