linnea55, There are many great websites that list most clematis and what pruning group they are. I have a printed list from my last purchase of clematis. Huldine is a type 3, that means it needs to be cut back in late winter early spring, hard, meaning less than 12"-24" If you have not cut it back, that may be the reason you haven't seen any blooms. It blooms on new wood. Huldine should be a great bloomer! Dutches of Edinburg could be your double white, if it is, I have been a little disappointed in mine. It is a type 2, blooming on old and new wood. Polish Spirit is a type 3, it should be pruned hard as well. These are two good websites, there are many more also. You can also just google the name and pruning. You may find different opinions on each variety the more you search, and under different circumstances. I think the idea of a SE MA swap is great, too and I appreciate how far our SE friends have been traveling. I hope, however, that we continue to have two swaps- Sp and F- and that one will be "up here" around Boston, AND that our Cape area friends will come this way, despite the drive! Can you see I'm feeling a bit anxious about the group (as fluid as it is) hanging in together? Rationally, my anxiety makes little sense because the reason people come or don't are so varied but even so, sometimes thinking about change is difficult. But I'll be there, no matter what, if I can get there!

There are alot of variables. Is the area where you want the pad level? Does it have to be cut out with a bobcat or something. Do you have a place for the dirt to go or will they have to get rid of it. Usually you can get a square foot price to finish over the phone. I cut out the ground, formed my own pad, installed the gravel and leveled it. Then I paid 75 cents a square foot to have it finished. You need roughly 13 yards of concrete(85 dollars a yard here) if your pad is 4" thick, plus a load of washed gravel as a base.($200) I know its broad but somewhere between 4 and 6k. Get a couple of bids, but worry more about the concrete guys reputation than his price. If the cheapest guy makes a mistake its permanent!
