Warning - age too rapidly

Just thot I would stop by here and warn all of you with younger grands. Each year we have set up a schedule of what our grands want to do: tennis, swimming, reading buddies, day camp, art, crafts, science camp etc. Since they live in a bedroom community 12 miles from town and both parents work, we have been their source of transportation to other communities to take part in these things. Luckily, we also have had time with them between activities on some days.

Mostly we do this in the month of July, cuz I am an old-fashioned gramma who thinks the kids need a break from organized activities right after school ends and before it begins - time to just be kids and play in the neighborhood. After getting their schedule worked out this summer, the school at a late date, decided to offer some activities, so we had to contact everyone and get money back and change schedules where we could.

My point is - enjoy your GKs while you can, before the schools gobble up all their "vacation" time.

Jan, I agree time can really be taken by activities. I was the type Mother who was thrilled when school was out and sad when they went back. Ladieg
