Does you Grandchild and it's parent live with you?
Comments (3)That's good it's your daughter. *G* You can pretty much say what you want to with your own daughter. My daughter-in-law and son have never lived close so I never got to interact with the kids when they were small. And too I worked a very stressful job and didn't have the time or energy to enjoy my grandkids like I do now. I've been retired for four years. It's totally great!! My kids always lived very close to one of their grandmothers and that was nice. I think grandparenting is such a job and so important for the kids. Comments (3)My daughter gave birth to our second grand-daughter this past August. Her first daughter was 2 1/2 years old. My daughter was having a C-section, it had been pre-arranged. Makayla understood her Momma was going to the hospital and the doctor was going to take the new baby out of her Momma's belly. Jenny, my daughter had made up her mind that Makayla was going to stay overnight at her day care the first night of this hospital stay and not stay with us. Not a good night for Makayla, nor the next day. She wasn't a happy child till she stayed with us. Makayla loves to stay with us and we'd happily have kept her but as you know I was only the Grandma and what did I know according to my daughter. Everything was great after Makayla was with us and she loved going to see her Momma and new sister Cassidy, provided Grandma and Grandpa took her to the hospital. The kids really can understand more than they are given credit for....Makayla understood a great deal about this new baby in her Momma's tummy....just a couple of funnies about it though...near the due date one afternoon Makayla asked her Momma to let her new baby sisser out of the tummy...when Momma told her the baby wasn't ready..Makayla told her she wanted to see her new sisser, that she could put her back after seeing her. Also the big ??? HOW did the baby get in Momma's tummy..well the older three year olds at daycare and Makayla say her Mom may have eaten the baby. Out of the mouths of babes!...See MoreMy first Grandchild
Comments (6)I am so sad for all of you. My nephew and his girlfriend had a baby two weeks ago. I lost my adult son almost 4 months ago and as sad as I feel about losing my son, holding that baby made things ok for a few minutes. You will never forget your grandbaby. I had a friend who carried her baby full-term and the doctor thought she was in premature labor so he put it off with methods not used today. Her perfectly healthy 8 lb girl was dead when she was finally delivered. She had started breathing in the womb and drowned. We have never avoided talking about Jamie Anne. Had she lived she would be 34. As badly as it hurt to lose that baby, my friend went on to have another child. He was 31 on his last birthday. Knowing how it made me feel to hold my great-niece last week, maybe you could volunteer to hold babies at the hospital. There are babies who need the human touch to survive and sadly enough there are not enough people willing to hold and rock a baby in need. And as hard as it is to believe all people who have sick babies do not stay at the hospital to give that baby enough love for it to survive. I have seen this personally. I know you want to hold and rock your grandbaby, just like I want to see, touch, and talk to my son again. It might give you some peace, being able to hold a baby who needs your touch, and once you find some peace you will be more able to help your daughter and son-in-law. I hope you find what you need to move forward in your grief journey....See Morewaiting for my grandchild ! LONGâ¦.

We don't pick ripe apples." and sent her home. She returned later the same day and delivered. She had 6 kids and tells us we were all late so she was pregnant more than 54 months of her life. With child #5, she was so late they induced her and she picked March 30th because she thought having an April Fool's day birthday would be awful(and the 30th would provide 2 days to get it done). Naturally, child #5 has always wished she had an AFD birthday. Our BIL and a nephew, who do have an AFD birthdays, love to tell her how it is the best birthday. Hope all is well with you and yours. When the apple is ripe, it will fall from the tree......See Moreforms
