I bought a few trees from Grandpa's Orchard two years ago. Unfortunately, the trees were misplaced and ended up being shipped late. They came with a free Honeycrisp to make up for the later shipping. The apricots that I ordered were huge, very thick trunks. The peach tree died later that year but I'm not sure why. So while their stock is very good, they do have some logistical issues but hopefully they've fixed that now.

Thanks guys. Dennis was actually grilling before his surgery day, Katkin. But it gave us so much hope and pleasure to have the The grandkids here, cheering us up all the time. Dennis will be back at his grill soon!!! Lisa I throw whatever fert I have on hand at the bananas. I really like the organic mix I get to blend in with soil or even water to feed everything. (I'll tell you what it is, after I look at the sack-it is wonderful) By the way, I was thinking of you today. Did that blackberry I rooted for you ever take off? If not I have discovered another shoot starting if you want it. Tonight wass not so pleasant for Dennis. He has been having sharp pains in his side today and after a 1/2 hour of attempting to lay down in bed, he finally went back to the recliner. He is only parttially laid back and sound asleep with his head resting on his hand. Surely his neck is going to be sore tomorrow. But we go back to the Doc in the morning. So I am going to curl up next to him tonight on the sofa. You all know how much I love my him, he's my world. It pains me to see him hurting. We will get through this! Love you guys!

Oh helen I don't have a small lawn. It takes me 2 hours to mow and the trim etc after that. I just don't want it in my lawn, growing across and trying to mow. It isn't something I planted so not something I want. Would be fine if she took care of it, trim it back from other peoples lawn. We are in town not the country where she has some sprawling acreage to let it roam. I know I sound bad but I really like my lawn to look nice and be a pleasant and clean place for my family and my self to enjoy the outdoors togather. Sort of the same thing with my mother. She loves honeysuckle, She has it growing in several areas. That is fine . She cuts back what she doesn't want to get out of hand and it is in her area. I on the other hand could only stand for it to be in a contained area. so hence I will do my best not to plant something that is going to bring me trouble down the line or cause someone else to have to deal with something they didn't plant or choose to have in their lawn. Within a week they were all back."....You shouldn't plant Ipomoea purpurea where it is going to be difficult to remove volunteers, although if you cut an annual type of MG seedling , below the cotyledons, it will NOT grow any further and a lawnmower set to very low or a simple weed-wacker works fine in removing any unwanted volunteers...Sometimes seeds will stay dormant in the soil for a couple years, although 'strangely', even though I study Morning Glories with some intensity, and frankly I do know how to identify different species, unlike most of the people posting all over the web, I have NEVER had the type of 'other-worldy' invasivness that some people report, so something is 'askew' somewhere in the 'formula'...I own 3 groups devoted exclusively to MG's, Moderate a 3rd and contribute to a host of professional sites on MG identification...The suppliers don't have packages labeled correctly as far as the species , or the cultivar...Scarlett O'Hara should be Ipomoea nil, not Ipomoea purpurea and Ipomoea nil is not generally a big self-sower, so, dis-information causes problems when disseminated by merchants or annoyed growers...I rarely come through this site anymore , because of the loss of functionality (e.g., no more internal messaging), although anyone interested to contact me , can do so by clicking onto my name and looking at my homepage.
