That One Christmas Gift...

Posted by firemanswife (My Page) on

Every year when I start shopping for family and friends I usually find the one special gift that I can't wait to give. This year I am having a friend of our's who is a wonderful artist draw a picture of my FIL's dad who died when my husband was just little, my FIL and my husband all together. The will be "together" for the first time in over 20 years. I am so excited to give it to him.
I was wondering if you all did the same...had that one special gift you just can't wait to give.

That's a great topic, actually. Wish I could think of a great gift to give my husband for father's day. He's such a great dad to our children. But I never know what to get him.

I think I'll write him a letter. Kinda lame, I guess.

Wow, I can't believe this post didnt get a lot of responses. Well, in light of the date, im going to bump it up again.

Yes, this year, I have a gift that I CANNOT wait to give. My nephews dad died when they were 7 and 8 years old. They are now 28 and 29 years old. We had just had a baby a year or so before and had bought a camcorder which was the newest gadget on the market at the time. My DH and I have put together about an hour of video of just their dad. Since they were so young when their dad died, Im sure they don't have alot of memories to look back on. Both boys were married over the summer and they were each others best man. Both speaches were emotional with mentions of their dad. This is the perfect Christmas for this present!
