 o
Retirement Participants Gifts

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I am posting it here. I have been looking all over for the etiquette associated with participants in a retirement ceremony. My husband is about to retire from the military (next week) and we cannot find anything that states the nature of a gift to give the participants in the ceremony, or if it is even something we should do. We want to make sure those in the ceremony know we appreciate them, but don't want to do something that isn't within "etiquette". If so, what and what would the cost be? Is it something that we could give them once we return from a trip right after his ceremony?
We have two individuals that have been his sponsor for the event, that we want to give gifts to. As well as friends that are coming in from out of town to do a section of the ceremony (major pieces). But do we need to do a thank you gift for those that are just part of a small section?
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.
