i have a craftsman gdo: mod.# 139-53606. after replacing the gears and before reattaching the chain, i hit the control button and found that the limit switch on the worm gear would not stop when it made contact on either end of the gear; therefore the motor continues and the gears would strip again if the door was connected. is this a problem which is worth repairing? govenor

RE: gdo

First thing to do is make sure you didn't accidentally knock of a wire especially from the limit switch assembly. If not it is most likely your logic board which runs around $80.00 plus labor.
