Craftsman Garage Door Opener

I push the remote button on the wall of my garage door opener and the door goes down maybe a quarter of the way down and then it returns back by itself and when it returns back the lights start to flash. Need some help to figure out what is going on. Thanks.

Sounds like the safety sensors in the doorway have been bumped or knocked out of alignment. They must be pointed at one another to work properly. Each of them has a small light that will be lit when they are properly aligned.

Might be bad receive sensor. Read my post below. Do hair drier test. If warmth makes the light on the sensor illuminate (takes about 5 minutes), then repair the sensor. Paste in your browser for repair details:
