I recently bought new fuel lines for my older poulan chainsaw and a new fuel filter. I put everything in and It does not start but when the carb is fully opened it starts but gas spits out of the top can someone tell me why its doing this thanks!

Maybe some of the lines were reversed when you reconnected them?

Not sure what you mean by 'squirts out the top' - is this when the air cleaner is removed? I'd have to see it to hazard a better guess, but at least in automotive carbs, you may have what's called an 'accelerator pump' which looks like a little laboratory sink spout pointing into the throat of the carb, when you put the pedal to the metal as it were, it will deliver an extra squirt of fuel via this arrangement.
