Programming Garage Door Remote - Craftsman 1/2 HP

Sorry to post yet another message about the craftsman 1/2 HP garage doors, but I have searched through the many posts and while some of the suggestions helped me some, I still can't solve my problem.

I have 2 Craftsman 1/2 HP Model number 139.53515SR garage door openers (They came with the house I recently purchased).

Through the help of this forum, I have been able to program the remote to the 1 garage door opener, but I cannot for the life of me get the second garage door opener to work with that remote, or a second one, of the same model number, which I purchased.

I have tried holding in the "learn" button, sometimes for as long as a full minute to attempt to reset it. Then pushed it once, and held the button on the remote, to no avail.

Is there something else I can do to try and get the opener to work? I'd really hate to replace the opener, it works just fine with the hard wired button on the wall, so the motor and everything else is fine. I just can't get it to work with the remote.

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you can't get the opener to program using your known good remote then your logic board is bad.

Ok, me being a novice to this sort of stuff - how do I replace / fix the logic board?

Thanks in advance for your help!

You are not going to be able to repair the logic board. It is replace only. It is the end of your opener where all those white wire go. If you had a new one in your hands you would know what was involved. They cost around $80.00.

Ok thanks for the help, I guess I'll give that a shot.

I too have been having programming problems. I am trying to program the control built into my car. I tried using the learn button. Didn't work. My note about the Premium Control Console says it "Can be used to program the opener to accept additional remotes." It doesn't say how. Does anyone know? Thanks, Eddie

if it is a fixed-code model which uses dip switches to set the address pins of encoder and decoder ic, maybe you should check out the remote control dip switch calculator at solidremote, it will save you a lot of calculations.

Here is a link that might be useful: remote control dip switch calculator
