Unusual problem with Sears GD remotes

I have read several posts and dont think I found my exact problem. The two remotes (handheld) for my sears craftsman GDO do not function. I have changed batteries, and re-learned codes. No luck. The Keyless exterior control DOES work however, as well as the hard-wired door control. I have read that sometimes the circuit board goes bad. If that were the case, why does the "keyless" work. Doesnt that rely on the same technology?

bob you are pretty close to being right. Both the hand remotes and the keypad send a radio signal to operate the door but there is something different about the keypad. When you use the lock function to disable the remotes, the keypad will still operate. This may explain the problem you are having. although it doesn't help you.
