Problems with Liftmaster Model 3850 w/battery

Here's the situation:

PROBLEMS
1. Work lights stay on constantly - even with door closed;
2. Motion detecting control console (unlocked) not working/not lit up;

MORE INFO
3. Safety sensors are working;
4. Door opens/closes using remote control in car;
5. Door opens/closes using remote keypad on outside wall;

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

I e-mailed Chamberlain over a week ago but haven't received a response as yet. I'll keep trying.

Does the door open from the controller? If not, sounds like your controller is probably no good. Did you install the opener yourself or get it installed by a dealer? If installed by the dealer, I'm sure they'd be happy to help since it is probably still under warranty.

The dealer installed it. But like so many others these days, they're no longer in business.

We finally heard back from Chamberlain and their rep thought it must be the wiring. My husband was sceptical but sure enough, when he checked he noticed a splice was loose in the attic - probably from when he was walking around up there recently. Problem solved. Thanks.
