GDO mdl 139.53991 1/2 hp screw drive Garage door opener does not respond to wireless remotes (hand, keypad, car homelink)when temps go below freezing in garage. Works fine in the 40s but this is not good for NE Kansas winters. GDO was new Oct.'02 and work in winter to begin with but has been getting less reliable with time. Reprogramming and new batteries have no effect. Extending antenna to 1/2 wavelength helped only slightly. Does the receiver have something that can decay/degrade?

Electronic parts can become temperature sensitive. I think a new logic board is called for.

Thanks, Don. I suspected but did not want to hear that--logic boards cost too much--especially if only guessing as to the problem. I'll let you know if I find a less costly solution. Your forum seems to be the ultimate in GDO advice. Sears is no help at all for not-new GDOs.
