| We want to put dummy strap hinges on our plain, 9 foot wide garage doors. We want the overhead doors to look more colonial. How long should the straps be? |

| Black needle nose what type of panels does your door have right now? If you have standard or ranch panels you are not going to get the effect your looking for. These straps are usually installed on carriage house doors. ( What we call em where I am from ). Carriage house doors have specific designs on the outside that make them look more colonial and the straps and handles really set it off. |
