Genie garage door maintenance

Just thought I would share my recent experience.

I have two different model Genie openers, one was a LOT noisier than the other. I attributed that to the fact they were different models.

Well, I bought a cleaning kit that came with some silicone spray for the rollers and and hinges and grease for the screw drive. The improvement in sound of the door was incredible. I probably added 7 years to the life of the opener.

I will be doing this at least 1x a year.

Good for you. This is something that is almost always overlooked. While you are at it clean the condenser fins on your fridge and replace the batteries in your smoke alarm. Thanks for posting.

Just for general information a lubrication kit is available at Home Depot.
