| Anyone ever convert a garage by "ripping off" the roof and building an apt above? We are sort of toying with the idea of doing that to a three-car garage (with over 1000 sq ft) to conver it to an apt for my soon-to-be-retired parents. We built our home just this year for $110/sq ft, not including land, but I don't know what this would cost. |

| Probably easier to rip the entire garage down and start over since the idea wasn't there earlier to have the construction and beams in place to bear the weight. |
