Sears Craftsman Code Resetting

I am trying to help a friend who has two car remotes to her garage door and one was lost/stolen. I want to reset the code (it has no mini switches) so as to make the stolen/lost remote useless. The remote has a number of 139.53779 and the opener/motor has a model number HBW0777. It was manufactured in 3/95. Can someone tell me how to reset the code? The other problem ... and I think I found the answer but want to verify that I did is... to reset the keypad outside the garage.... all I have to do is press the learning button on the back of the motor and then key in a new code within 30 seconds. Is that correct? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help....

RE: Sears Craftsman Code Resetting

The only way to change the code is to go to Sears and purchase 2 new remotes. Reprogramming the old remote puts the same code back into the opener.
