Best Method of Install

Hey everyone. I am renovating my place, to clean out the garage. I want to get all my storage stuff out of it. The way I chose to do this, moving things to the attic above the garage. I have already bought a VersaLift Systems attic lift, http://goo.gl/zEcHPO. There was an option to have it installed, but I chose to install it on my own.

My question is: do you think it would be okay to just cut a hole in the attic floor for the space or do I have to reinforce the hole once it is cut. Thanks!

No problem cutting a hole in the attic floor. Don't cut joists unless you head them off and transfer the load to adjacent joists.
