My son in law asked me to help him install a small wood stove in his free standing garage man cave. He prefers to bring the stovepipe straight up through the asphalt roof in a corner of the building. Most wood stove installs I have ever seen are either into a chimney or through a hole in the wall encased with cement heat sink. Advice how to do this or if it can be done safely would be appreciated. I am thinking that double wall pipe and a standard roof boot around the roof opening might work?
