Calculations for Footings?

We are looking at building a 27*26 3 car detached garage in Nebraska. It will be 2 story. The calculations by the cement company seemed much larger than I am seeing online. Is there a good website to go to to figure footing depth/width based on your building size, or do you have a great figure for footings for this project? Thanks

Have you asked the supplier how they came to their figure?
What frost depth were you using? I believe Nebraska ranges from 30 to 45 inches. They may also be using more conservative soil load-bearing factors or have calculated it for a heavier construction. What does the local building inspector require?

The soil's load bearing capability is the first large variable that must be determined.

Everything comes from that number, and if you make a mistake you end up with a cracked foundation.
