Sears/Craftsman garage door opener will not open.

I have a Sears garage door opener 1/2 horse with keyless remote. It will not open with any of my remotes but it will SOMETIMES close with them. It also has a hard wired door opener that works all the time. It does not matter what time of day or what the temperature is they just will not work. This has been going on for some time and I have been making do with the hard wired unit.

I replaced all the batteries in the remotes. I tried reprogamming the remotes but it still does the same thing. The antenna wire is in the same position it was when the remotes were working and all connections appear to be good.

As a last resort I unplugged the unit for ten minutes and plugged it back in. Results were the same. I did not think that would work in this case but figured it was worth a try.

Sounds like your receiver has quit. Hard wired wall control and keypad doesn't use it so it keeps working. Time for a new opener. That one is old and outdated anyway.
