| I seem to have pretty much the same problem as you all describe with the exception of it is hot here, not cold. I am in northern Alabama and for the past 10 days it has been over 100 degrees every day. Last night hit the down button and the door went about 6 feet and reversed. I've done the adjustment try, the left unit (sending) is steady green and the right (receiving) is steady yellow. I have moved them around and see no change in the lights, even when one is not pointed at the other. I don't see any breaks in the line but possible I can't see one if there. The unit is a Craftsman 1/2 hp, Model 139.53930D. Any suggestions? |

| Check to see if the door is binding. Pull the emergency release and operate it by hand. If it seems normal, go back to opener problems. If you feel drag or binding operating it manually, look for the source of that. You should also lubricate the door rollers and hinges, if that hasn't been done in the last year.

| When you mis-align the sensors one of the lights should go off. If this doesn't happen you have a door sensor problem. |
