Unwanted garage door opening

I have a house with a two car garage. Whenever the power goes off either because of a storm or because of a circuit breaker being turned off one of the doors always opens when power is restored. Thought maybe a surge protector would fix it but no go. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

You didn't say which make & model of GDO you have, but it is malfunctioning. A call to the manufacturer's tech support might help you troubleshoot it, but I suspect the problem is on a circuit card.

I would begin a process of elimination. First by disconnecting the wall control and then the wiring from the wall control to the opener. I can't believe it's not something simple.
