| I have about 8 year old screw drive Craftsman garage door opener. It opens all by its self during some electrical storms.(not all storms) I tried unplugging it to see if it re-sets. I uninstalled the remoted then re-installed them. And then the next thunder storm it sometimes goes up. Tried flipping the breaker to simulate power surge. Doesn't open. So I think it isn't a power surge. Must be something with radio frequincy during the storm. Anyone seen troubles like this and have any advice on how to correct it.

| I would suspect the wall button or the wiring to it. That is the most common cause of this problem. You can take the connection off of terminal #1 on the opener and that will eliminate both the wiring and the button. Then by a process of elimination you can narrow it down. |
