garage door remote

recently had a remote stolen out of my vehicle wife still has hers. Was wondering if there was a way to reset or change the frequency or something like that to secure my garage and house or do i need to go buy another garage door opener. any hlep woul dbe greatly appreciated

Generally yes, especially with newer openers. There's usually some kind of reset, often holding down the program button for some period of time or until a light flashes a certain way. Then you just reprogram you wife's remote. The stolen remote will not work.
