Garage door opener

I just replaced the logic board in my craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener. The wall unit works fine, but I can't get the remote or the keypad to program. I have pressed and held the button on the unit until the light went off to reset the codes. I then pressed the button again then pressed the remote, but it does not work. Same with the keypad. Any suggestions?

I have an Overhead Door Model 551 and am trying to install a universal keypad. My opener does not appear to have a "learn button" or "DIP" switches -- any idea on how to program the keypad to this unit.
