 o
craftsman garage door opener...HELP !!!!

we recently bought a new house. The garage door opener is not working. There is power, and the switch on the wall is good. The light stays on all the time, it never goes off. When you push the switch to open the door, the opener does not even try to move. Not so much as a "hum" or a "click". Does this mean the motor is bad? I've tried and looked at everything I know to try and look at. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

try bypassing the wall console. Take it off the wall and jumper the wires together.

Is it a new house or a new-to-you house? If it's a new house, it's a warranty issue.

Try This

You can also try disconnecting the power to the unit and leaving it off for a few minutes. It may or may not help, but it costs nothing to try.

I had a light that wouldn't go off. That's what I did to clear the problem.
