Garage Floor Cracks

Posted by dug22 (My Page) on

I have noticed that my garage floor seems to have more cracks than it did years ago. My home sits below the road and water runoff is forced to the house. Last winter here in Western Pa was rather harsh with an unusually high amount of snow.

Is it possible that the cracks could be caused by the runoff getting under the house ? Should I dig a trench a foot or 2 deep and install a french drain ?

Any suggestions ?

RE: Garage Floor Cracks

Do some landscaping/regrading to keep the runoff away from the house. If the water is coming down the drive you can put in a 'speed bump' to divert the water.
