craftsman sensor issue

one sensor was only orange and the other blinking green- like a dope after 15 minutes of profuse sweating i figured (without reading this forum) - now i know- i cut both wires hoping it would not be needed but now i see how dumb i am- can i now strip them and splice back so they can possibly work?

ok so now i spliced them and power is on- but the one sensor only remains orange and the good one is green- on occasion the orange one sometimes flickers- i put them eye to eye what is problem
