Craftsman Opener

Today my model 139.18060 Craftsman Opener opened twice on its own and closed once on its own. This is the first time this has happened. It is a warm and humid day but the opener has seen worse. Has anyone else had this problem? Are they prone to this or am I the subject of a prank?

RE: Craftsman Opener

I have a craftsman garagedoor opener and the door moves only about 6-12 inches before reversing. The motor light flickers about 8-10 times.

The sensor eye lights seems to be aligned as both the lights are lit green.

Of late the wall switch light has been flickering constantly. Any inputs would be appreciated. The model number is 139. something

Thanks

RE: Craftsman Opener

Mannoli. There are a couple things suspect when this happens. The wall control can go bad and cause this and the wiring from the wall control to the motor sometimes has a staple cut through the insulation and causes the same thing. You can remove the 2 wires from the back of the wall control to eliminate the button and then you can remove the 2 wires from terminals 1 and 2 to eliminate the wiring.
