How to install coupler on screw-drive garage door opener

The coupler between the motor output shaft and the screw sheared from wearing out after 14 years. I ordered the part but am not sure if I should pull the entire motor or is there a trick to this. Sears Model 139.534 SRT - .5hp - screw-drive made on 08\1995

Remove the 2 bolts that hold the rail to the motor unit and slide the rail forward. There should be enough play to replace the coupler. I would be very surprised if your new part didn't come with instructions.
