| I am thinking of building a detached garage with an apartment over it. Is there anyway to get a very rough estimate of what it would cost to do a project like this???? Is there a general rule of thumb square foot cost?

| The per-square-foot cost is what you calculate after it's built. Too many variables. You'd do best to get a design, get it reviewed for code compliance in your area, and then get three bids (after researching builders in your area). |
