Rolair Air Compressor

Posted by cranheim (My Page) on

I recently purchased a Rolair air compressor model 5520K17. I plan on using the Rolair synthetic oil recommended by the manufacturer. Has anyone had experience with this compressor? So far I like it very much. It seems very well made compared to the old Sears compressor it is replacing. Charles Ranheim

Rol-Air is supposed to be good stuff. Marketed for the trades you're not going to see them in home centers, etc. and they tend to be a bit more expensive than some others.

Thomas makes some nice stuff too. Pricey though.

RE: Rolair Air Compressor

Thanks for your comments. Now that I have had the compressor for a little more time, I appreciate its quality more and more. When I look at box store compressors that are larger and cost less, I see the difference in the overall quality. However, I have to say my old Sears compressor served me well for over 20 years. Certainly, under homeowner use, it was not used very hard. I had to get rid of it because I could no longer get parts for it. I paid a premium for the Rolair compressor because I wanted trouble free quality. Charles Ranheim
