| Hello everyone! I have a 1/2 hp craftsmen GDO that for the most part seemed to work fine. Till a few days ago I press the remote or the wall unit and the GDO only goes up about 1-1 1/2 ft up and stops.I checked the travel and the gears, every things seems to be fine. Am I over looking something or does the door need balancing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. JP |

| The first thing to do is disconnect the opener and see if the door operates freely. It should balance or drop very slowly when it is roughly half way open. |

| Check the door springs. Sounds like one is broken. |
