Locating Garage Plans

I have a small one-car garage with my house. It is very much like this one:

Except that it is only 12 feet wide and does not have the window or door on the side. A hipped roof shed, I guess, with a roll up garage door. However, it is original to the house and is board and batten sided. One side is a side of my back yard, very close to the rear of the house. Driveway runs beside the house directly into the garage that is maybe 15 feet beyond the house.

The garage needs a lot of repair and has a charming sag at the moment. I would like to find some plans that show a small porch built on the side of the garage. Something about 3/4 the the length and about 10 foot depth would work well for my situation. It would be a sheltered stone patio with the garage providing the afternoon shade. Maybe I'll put a couple of fake windows under there on the side of garage for some interest.

The problem I'm haveing is the tie in for the roof line running off to the side for the porch / patio cover. I once saw a plan set on the web but have searched extensively for several days with google and cannot find it again. What I'm looking for would be something like what is shown here:

Any help would be appreciated. I know this is a long shot, but hope someone will recall seeing a small garage project plan of this type.

Try searching on houseplans.com. You can search just garage plans, and they've got tons of them.

I found several really good American based sites:

Backroad Home and Outbuilding Plans at:

Behm Design at:

Hope it helps!
