Security light sensor for garage door opener has quit working.

Never had any issues with our opener (Craftsman 1/2 HP model 139.53985) until I changed the keyless entry code. New code and every other function is working correctly except the sensor beams are not tripping the light on when they are crossed. The learn light on the motor unit flashes for a bit rather than lights coming on.

This has me stumped. Read through manual a few times and the only thing somewhat related is how to extend the amount of time lights stay on after opening door.

How can I get security light to work again?

Any advice, info or remedies greatly appreciated...

The LED by the smart/learn button always flashes randomly.

To have your lights come on automatically when you walk into an open garage you must START with the lights ON. To turn the feature on, turn the lights on manually with the wall switch then press and hold the LIGHT button for about 10 seconds until the motor unit light bulbs flash. Now, if the light bulbs are on, manually turn them off and then walk out through the open door. The light bulbs should come on.

To disable this feature, start with the light bulbs OFF and everything else is the same.
