craftsman garage door opener - blinking green light

Hello. Craftsman Garage Door Opener recently coming to life in strange ways. Model 139.53960SRT. Has been installed for 4+/- years without incident. Operates fine from wall button and multiple remotes. All safety features with sensor eyes and tension operating as designed. BUT - green light on main unit is blinking rapidly and constantly. This started several days ago. Door also goes up or down randomly - we have heard and seen this happen about once a day over the last few days.

Have cleaned and tested sensor eyes. Removed batts from all remotes and then reprogrammed. Spoke with neighbors and saw that operation of their doors was not triggering our door. No new appliances or other items in or around our garage that might have triggered this.

Constant blinking green light and random periodic up/down? Any thoughts?

If the light is flashing rapidly this means you have a stuck button on one of your remote controls. Take the batteries out of each remote control. When you remove the batteries from the bad remote, the light will stop flashing. This remote needs to be replaced. If you have a wireless keypad remove those batteries too.

If you have any remotes from old openers remove the batteries from them also.
