Cleaning car leaks from drive

Posted by wannaflower (My Page) on

Our car has had an oil leak for quite some time. We are in the process of selling it, & I'd like a fairly clean drive. (At least so kids won't track through it). Any suggestions how to best clean it? The driveway is concrete & we do have a power washer. I'm not to sure how strict the town is on using chemicals that would go down the drain.

Try some laundry detergent. Work it in with a stiff brush, let it sit for 15 minutes, and rinse. There are also degreasing products available at better home centers and hardware stores.

You might also want to fix that leak. Oil leaking from cars is major source of groundwater contamination.

Thanks for the info Mike. I'll give it a try.
thanks too for the insight about the leak, I never thought about it contaminating the ground water.
