Low Headroom Garage Door Installation Options?

Posted by azroyal (My Page) on

I would like to correct the previous sloppy installation of our garage door. The current horizontal track is tilted downward away from the door to clear a supporting beam above the door. Various do-it-yourself sites advertise different fixes, and I'd appreciate advice on how the hardware is used and why I would use one method over another. Fixes seem to fall into the following categories:

- Low headroom horizontal parallel track
- Low headroom kit (set of special brackets and small radius curved track)
- Quick-turn brackets

Thanks in advance for any advice.
