Sears garage door opener problem

Posted by gordon_2006 (My Page) on

I have a Sears Garage door opener that was working fine until last Friday. I pressed the remote so the garage would shut. The door started to shut. It then stopped and opened again. There was nothing in the way to trigger the emergency stop feature. I then pressed the remote again and the opener made two clicking noises and the light flashed a couple of times. I thought that maybe the problem could be solved by re-programming the remote. This has not worked. Any clue as to what I am doing wrong? Please advise,
Thank you kindly,

RE: Sears garage door opener problem

If when you try to close the door it reverses to the open position and the main light flashes 10 times you have a problem with the sensors in the doorway. Make sure they are pointing directly at one another - they do get bumped with things. They both have a small light and the light must be on and not blinking ever so slightly.
