Garage door remote problem

My garage door remote in my car will open the garage door, but it will not shut it. I have to shut it using the button in the garage. Further, when shutting it with the button in the garage I have to push the button in the whole time or else the door will just stop. Any idea of what is going on?

Those photo eyes at the bottom of the door are out of alignment. One should be a solid green or maybe amber or yellow depending on how new the opener is and other should be a solid green. Either way way both lights need to be on at the same time in order for the door to close. Try playing with them a little bit until the green light on the recieving eye is glowing a solid green.
